Sharing from Beneficiaries

The story of Luk Mui ... ...

Luk-mui used to live in her own style. Behind her wrinkly face lies the boldness of determination. When she smiles, you can see her few remaining teeth. Although in her late years at 86, she insists on earning her own living by being a rag picker, if only to persist in her own living manner and strive for dignity... When asked what she lacks most, she said nothing else but a PE Link.

Last year, Luk-mui tripped and fell at home and injured her head. Fortunately, her neighbour heard her scream for help and sent her to the hospital in time. She was still frightened when she recalled the memory. She said worryingly, "I was so afraid at that time, I thought I would die then."

To make her wish come true, the SCHSA installed a PE Link for her free of charge. Today when we met her, she was wearing the brightest smile on her face, "Thanks to all the kind people, I now feel much relieved after the PE Link has been installed."

The story of Auntie Leung ... ... Auntie Leung, 85-years-old, lives with her son and her daughter-in-law. She suffers from hypertension and cataracts. In an escalator accident a few years ago, her leg bones were badly injured. Since then, she can only walk slowly with the aid of a leg support frame.

What's worse, her son is an inveterate gambler and drinker, and her daughter-in-law, being mentally handicapped, is unable to share her burden, but needs to be taken care of by Ms Leung instead.

Auntie Leung said, "As my health gets worse and worse, I am really worried that no one can seek help for me when I fall ill..."

Therefore, with a subsidy from the PE Link Charitable Fund, SCHSA installed and provides the PE Link Service for her, so that she can obtain the necessary assistance in time.
